B2B Development Manager - Malaysia

COMPANY DESCRIPTION:

My client is an international insurance company licensed and regulated by the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority. They work closely with licensed financial Intermediaries to promote their range of cost effective investment-linked insurance products to affluent and high net worth customers.

JOB OVERVIEW:

A Business Development Managers primary role is to grow our business with our distribution partners in Asia. This will be achieved by providing our business partners with the optimal levels of training, support and personal development required to promote our range of savings and investment products to our clients in Asia.

A BDM's role will cover areas of expertise such as, but not limited to: training; prospecting; recruitment; MI management; mentoring; marketing support; and enablement of future and current business plans to ensure that they are able to provide the best advice to their customers using our platform.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Be a key contributing member of a sales team that achieves and exceeds the required sales targets set for the APAC Region.
  • Take ownership of account management and business development duties on all their accounts and to develop new accounts.
  • Ensure all business partners receive direct communication, training and motivation to use us constantly and consistently from site visits, training, phone calls, etc
  • Ensure that 95% of all sales related follow ups items from business partners are resolved within 24 hours.
  • Prepare properly for all meetings (both internal and external), complete weekly activity and prospecting list reports for sharing with management.
  • Assume a coverage role when other BDMs are on leave or out of station, to ensure business partners receives uninterrupted levels of support.
  • To work closely with the Sales Executives and Operations team to ensure that they provide fantastic support and service to the Sales team and our distributors.
  • To ensure that the new accounts signed up are of the appropriate standard and produce quality business.
  • To monitor the risks and persistency levels at their accounts on a quarterly basis.
  • Liaise with appropriate stakeholders involved; prepare for, and attend conferences and trade events.
  • Work closely with management and marketing teams to develop new sales projects.
  • To comply with all company procedures and Regulatory requirements.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelors Degree or Diploma in any discipline from recognized institution of higher learning. Technical and business degrees specializing in finance will be an added advantage.
  • A successful and demonstrable track record of success in sales.
  • Must possess own transport and valid driving license.
  • Must be prepared to travel and work within the Asia region.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years' experience in a sales role, preferably in the financial services and insurance industry, but solid candidates from other industries will also be considered.
  • Must be tech savvy, and have a high degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications especially Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Must have an excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken. Having Bilingual capabilities is an advantage.
