COMPANY DESCRIPTION:

My client is an international insurance company licensed and regulated by the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority. They work closely with licensed financial Intermediaries to promote their range of cost effective investment-linked insurance products to affluent and high net worth customers.

JOB OVERVIEW:

A Relationship Manager provides essential cover and support activities for the Business Development Manager to ensure that our business partners receive optimal levels of support required to promote our range of savings and investment products to mass affluent and High Net Worth clients in Asia.

Depending on the nature of the business partner relationship a Relationship manager’s role may span one or more areas including but not limited to prospecting, introducer selection and recruitment, product presentations and training, writing weekly activity reports, competitor analysis, updating business partners on marketing and product initiatives, sales opportunity spotting, scheduling activities for the Business Development Manager to exploit opportunities and leads, performing follow up activities from meetings and assisting both current and potential business partners to provide the best advice and service to their customers using our platform.

The role will involve some field work and travel, predominantly to the office locations of our business partners.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelors Degree or Diploma in any discipline from recognized institution of higher learning. Technical or business degree specialising in finance would be an added advantage.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years experience in direct support and customer facing roles in the financial services or insurance industry, Must be tech savvy, with a high degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications especially Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Must be bilingual: Excellent command in English and one other [or more] either in Mandarin or Japanese,.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Assist the BDMs with follow ups and pending items generated from our partners’ activities and BDM visits.
  • Attend weekly meetings and manage follow up items with supervisors and colleagues.
  • Prospecting : Scour social media, especially Linked-In and trade association websites to generate a list of potential business partners for BDMs to contact.
  • Assist the BDM with weekly planning and execution of broker calls and meetings to ensure that all business partners receive the attention and support they require to perform their duties. Prepare relevant materials for such calls.
  • Facilitate smooth transactions between operations team and our business partners to help resolve conflicts and other administrative issues related to but not limited to introducer application process, new business submission, and policy holders enquiries.
  • Prepare training materials and perform product and systems training to existing business partners.
  • First level point of contact and phone support for business partners when BDMs are away from the office or on leave.
  • Occasional site visits to brokers offices for meetings and trainings.
  • Assist with marketing initiatives such as mailers, html updates etc and assist with follow ups of these.
  • Undertake market and competitor analysis when requested to support the sales effort
  • Produce reports for the BDM on current pipeline, leads, opportunities, activities
  • Schedule sales activities for the BDM when opportunities are identified requiring BDM follow up
  • Protect the company and the brand at all times by being aware of sales related risks and looking out for mis-selling, fraudulent activity and any other counterparty behaviours likely to damage the company.
  • Take ownership of account management and business development on selected business partners
  • Prepare for and attend conferences, seminars and trade events where required
